But the truth is, it started in a cramped apartment in Austin, Texas, with three of us (Software developers, AI engineers, & Risk managers), obsessed with one question. What if we could build a model that beat the sportsbooks at their own game? We weren't gamblers. We were engineers. But after years working in machine learning, we noticed patterns involving inefficiencies in how lines moved, how sportsbooks overreacted to public sentiment, how injury reports or late-breaking weather shifts rarely factored into models fast enough.
